This project acts as a sort of crowning achievement of mine. There’s a lot going on, but basically I wanted to make a game where a player could walk around weirdly shaped planets. From there I started playing around with ideas like:
What if the planets could move?
The gravity code alone took me a few weeks to get right, and even then, needed tweaking to support newer elements.
After that I began playing with enemy AI. To put it simply, I lost hair… In most games, enemies aren’t rotating non-stop and down is generally down. In this game, down is a fluid concept and I had to program around that.
